September 27, 2026 — NFL Week 3
Sunday in the NFL had just about everything a football fan could ask for: major upsets, fourth-quarter comebacks, defensive touchdowns, huge injuries, and a Dallas Cowboys game that ended in absolute heartbreak.
And the wild part? Nobody got a Sunday overtime game. A few teams came very close to needing the extra period, but the games were decided in regulation—including Dallas, which appeared headed for overtime before Baltimore ripped the win away with one final play.
🔥 The Biggest Story: Dallas Loses a Heartbreaker in Rio
The Dallas Cowboys and Baltimore Ravens gave Brazilian fans a thriller at Maracanã Stadium.
Ravens 34, Cowboys 31.
Dallas looked like it might steal this one.
Dak Prescott and the Cowboys drove deep into Baltimore territory with less than a minute remaining. Brandon Aubrey drilled a 23-yard field goal with seven seconds left, tying the game at 31-31.
Game over, right?
Nope.
Lamar Jackson immediately hit Zay Flowers for 27 yards, moving Baltimore into position. Then rookie kicker Tyler Loop stepped up and nailed a 56-yard field goal as time expired.
Ballgame.
Dallas falls to 1-2, and this one hurts because the Cowboys actually outgained Baltimore 415-378. Prescott threw for 276 yards and a touchdown, CeeDee Lamb had 112 receiving yards, and Javonte Williams rushed for 98 yards.
But Dallas repeatedly failed to finish drives in the red zone. Baltimore also ran for 192 yards, with Derrick Henry rushing for 89 yards and two touchdowns.
The Cowboys also lost safety Jalen Thompson to a hamstring injury during the game, adding to their injury problems in the secondary.
Dallas’ problem wasn’t that it couldn’t move the football. It was finishing.
😱 Washington Pulls Off One of Sunday’s Biggest Upsets
The Washington Commanders shocked the Seattle Seahawks 33-31.
Seattle came into the game unbeaten and looked like it was going to take control.
Then Washington flipped the script.
Marcus Mariota threw three touchdown passes, while Kain Medrano delivered a stunning 50-yard pick-six.
Seattle rallied late and got within two, but Washington converted a huge third down on a Marcus Mariota run to essentially slam the door.
That’s the kind of game that makes NFL fans say:
“Wait… what just happened?”
☠️ The Raiders Are 3-0
The Las Vegas Raiders are officially one of the league’s early surprises.
They beat the New Orleans Saints 35-27 after New Orleans built a 27-16 lead.
Then everything changed.
Las Vegas scored 19 unanswered points in the fourth quarter.
Brock Bowers, making his season debut, finished with 10 catches for 116 yards and a touchdown, while Kirk Cousins threw three touchdown passes.
The Saints also committed four turnovers.
That’s a brutal way to lose a game you were controlling.
🏈 Jacksonville Blows Out New England
The Jacksonville Jaguars didn’t just beat the New England Patriots.
They hammered them.
Jaguars 35, Patriots 6.
Trevor Lawrence threw three touchdown passes, while New England committed three turnovers.
Drake Maye finished with two interceptions, and Jacksonville turned the mistakes into points.
For New England, this was one of those Sundays where nothing seemed to click.

The Cleveland Browns survived the Carolina Panthers 21-18.
This one was a late-game gut punch for Carolina.
The Browns scored a touchdown with under two minutes remaining and then converted the two-point conversion to take a 21-18 lead.
Bryce Young got one last opportunity, but Cleveland intercepted him with 17 seconds remaining.
Game over.
⚫ Pittsburgh Wins a Shootout With Cincinnati
The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Cincinnati Bengals 30-27.
Joe Burrow threw three touchdown passes, but a late fumble ended Cincinnati’s final chance to potentially tie or win the game.
So, again, no overtime—just a three-point game that came down to the final minutes.
🔵 Indianapolis Finally Gets Its First Win
The Indianapolis Colts finally got into the win column, beating the Houston Texans 19-17.
And the ending was classic NFL drama.
Houston took a 17-16 lead with 1:48 remaining.
Indianapolis answered with a 53-yard field goal with 21 seconds left.
Colts win.
Indianapolis had 300 total yards but turned the ball over three times. The Colts defense held Houston to only 223 yards.
🦁 Detroit Holds Off the Jets
The Detroit Lions beat the New York Jets 31-24.
The Jets made a furious fourth-quarter comeback, tying the game at 24.
Detroit answered with a Jahmyr Gibbs touchdown.
Then, with the Jets trying to mount one final drive, Geno Smith was sacked and fumbled with 51 seconds left.
Detroit recovered.
Ballgame.
Gibbs finished with two rushing touchdowns and 99 rushing yards, while Geno Smith threw for 321 yards and three touchdowns.
🏥 Sunday’s Injury Report Is Getting Serious
This may be the part of Sunday that worries fans heading into Week 4.
Some of the biggest injury developments included:
- De’Von Achane, Dolphins: ruled out after a knee injury; Miami coach Jeff Hafley said the injury did not sound optimistic.
- Breece Hall, Jets: thigh injury; he was ruled out against Detroit.
- Baker Mayfield, Buccaneers: suffered a dislocated right thumb and is scheduled for an MRI Monday.
- Jack Bech, Raiders: suffered a broken forearm and is expected to go on injured reserve.
- Mike Evans, 49ers: suffered a rib strain and will undergo further evaluation.
- Donte Jackson, Chargers: ruled out after suffering a concussion.
- Leo Chenal, Commanders: suffered a neck injury and was ruled out after being carted off.
- Jaylen Watson and Terrance Ferguson, Rams: both left Sunday’s loss to Denver with injuries.
And Dallas wasn’t spared. Ravens centers Ethan Pocic and Jovaughn Gwyn also left their game and did not return.
🏆 And Then Denver Stuns the Rams
Sunday Night Football delivered another thriller.
Denver Broncos 30, Los Angeles Rams 26.
The Rams led 16-0 at halftime.
Then Denver came roaring back.
The Broncos scored 16 points in the third quarter and added 14 more in the fourth.
Matthew Stafford threw for 390 yards and two touchdowns, but Denver’s defense made the final play count. Stafford’s final-second pass was intercepted in the end zone.
That’s a comeback.
That’s a collapse.
