NFL Sunday Recap | November 1, 2026

Cowboys fans, I know that one hurt! Dallas looked like it had Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals under control. Then, somehow, the wheels came off.

And while Dallas was busy letting a victory slip away, the Washington Commanders picked up a much-needed win over Philadelphia. The New York Giants enjoyed a bye week and watched the rest of the division struggle.

Let’s get into it!

Cowboys fans: How did THAT happen?

Arizona Cardinals 33, Dallas Cowboys 30 (OT)

This was one of those games that makes football fans want to throw the remote!

Dallas held leads of 14-0, 17-3 and 24-10. Even with Arizona making a push, the Cowboys appeared to have enough control to finish the job.

But quarterback Gardner Minshew came off the bench and completely changed the game. He threw three second-half touchdown passes, bringing Arizona back into the fight.

Dallas was still ahead 30-27 with just over a minute remaining when Minshew drove the Cardinals downfield. Michael Wilson caught a 13-yard touchdown with six seconds left to tie the game.

Arizona’s kicker missed the extra point, giving Dallas another chance in overtime. Unfortunately, the Cowboys couldn’t capitalize. Chad Ryland eventually connected on a 42-yard field goal to give Arizona the 33-30 victory.

The painful part? Dallas had a 14-point fourth-quarter lead and still found a way to lose at home.

Dak Prescott threw for 195 yards and a touchdown, while Tyler Allgeier helped fuel Arizona’s comeback with 147 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Dallas needs to figure out how to finish games. You cannot keep giving victories away in the NFL. Cowboys fans deserve better!

NFC East: Who had a good Sunday?

New York Giants – BYE WEEK

Record: 4-2-1

The Giants didn’t even have to put on their uniforms Sunday, but they were probably the happiest team in the division. They remain in first place while Dallas, Philadelphia and Washington battled each other.

Sometimes the best Sunday is the one you get to watch from the couch!

Washington Commanders – BIG WIN!

Washington 27, Philadelphia 10

Washington finally had something to celebrate. The Commanders overcame an early 10-0 deficit and scored 27 unanswered points to beat the Eagles.

Jayden Daniels threw for 217 yards and a touchdown, connecting with Stefon Diggs for a score. Washington’s defense also made life miserable for Philadelphia, recording five sacks and an interception.

That’s a much-needed win for Washington and a rough night for its division rival.

Philadelphia Eagles – ANOTHER DISAPPOINTMENT

Lost to Washington 27-10

Things are getting ugly in Philadelphia. The Eagles jumped out to a 10-0 lead but couldn’t find the end zone again.

With Jalen Hurts sidelined, backup quarterback Tanner McKee struggled against Washington’s defense. Saquon Barkley scored a touchdown but was held to just 30 rushing yards.

The Eagles have now lost six straight games. That’s a long way from the championship expectations Philadelphia fans had coming into the season.

NFC East standings: The division is wide open!

TeamRecord
New York Giants4-2-1
Dallas Cowboys3-5
Washington Commanders2-5-1
Philadelphia Eagles2-6

What’s next?

The Cowboys need to regroup quickly and find a way to finish games. The Giants have a chance to strengthen their division lead, while Washington has some momentum to build on. Philadelphia desperately needs to stop the bleeding.

My take: The NFC East is turning into a division nobody seems to want to win. The Giants are sitting on top, Dallas keeps finding ways to disappoint, Washington finally has some life, and the Eagles are in serious trouble.

Cowboys fans, what do you think? Is this a team that can still turn things around, or are we watching another frustrating season slip away?

One thing is certain: There is still plenty of football left, and the NFC East is far from settled!
